Your Mileage May Vary
One thing I want to be very clear about this blog – this is D-to-D: diabetic-to-diabetic. By sharing experiences outside of the clinical norms, I hope that we can share a greater degree of insight for those T1s looking to take the leap from normal living to something larger and hopefully even more fulfilling and “extreme”. Proving to yourself and others that by exploiting an internal weakness, we can push harder, longer and stronger.
Thus the mantra, “your mileage may vary” since each of us is in our own unique situation: personal health, lifestyle, weight, height, and resistance/use of insulin that can change drastically over our lives. I have learned a tremendous amount of knowledge by picking up tidbits from many other diabetics, and a few pretty amazing doctors. But nothing has had a greater effect on my life than picking the brains of those who do what I do – listen to others trials, try new things, change and adjust and make it work for yourself.
This site is opinion and analysis of people pushing harder and doing things “off label” because that is the only way to live.
